Cheltenham YMCA Fitness Suite

Our aim is to provide affordable, up to date and enjoyable exercise opportunities for all, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

What equipment is in the Fitness Suite?

The YMCA Fitness Suite offers a wide range of both cardio-vascular machines (for burning fat, increasing aerobic capacity and boosting endurance) and resistance stations (for muscular strength, endurance and toning).

We also have a selection of free weights, and a stretching area.

When is it open?

It's open 7 days a week

  • Monday to Friday: 7.00 am to 10.00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9.00 am to 10.00 pm

What does it cost?

The cost of using the fitness suite is very reasonable. You can pay for your sessions on a pay-per-visit basis as follows:

Cost: Per visit off-peak - £3.30, Per visit peak time - £3.80 (Off Peak: Monday-Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm and Saturday-Sunday all day. Peak times: Monday-Friday 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm.)

Money Saver

You can save money by buying a fitness suite regular user card. This is a good alternative to the pay-per-visit way of paying. It is designed for those using the fitness suite or attending fitness classes more than twice a week. It entitles you to unlimited use of the fitness suite and fitness classes for the month at either peak or off-peak times. There are two types of user cards as follows:

Cost: Peak Card per month - £30.50, Off-Peak Card per month - £25.50 (Off Peak: Monday-Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm and Saturday-Sunday all day. Peak times: Monday-Friday 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm.)

Fitness Suite Membership

  • Fitness Suite Membership - £15.00 per yearIf you want to make regular use of the fitness suite you will need to have Fitness Suite Membership. This comes as an add-on to the Cheltenham YMCA membership.

    Anyone taking out a fitness suite membership must also attend a free induction session which shows you how to use the equipment safely.

    There is a minimum age requirement of 16 years old for fitness suite membership and use.



Does the YMCA run exercise classes?

Yes. The YMCA runs a full range of exercise classes including Studio Cycling, Ab Attack, Yoga, Body Conditioning, Circuit Training, Legs, Bums, and Tums, Mobilistics, and all key sports (badminton, squash, basketball, football, netball, etc). See the site Menu for the appropriate web pages.

What other facilities does the YMCA have?

As you would expect the YMCA has changing rooms, showers (including hair dryers) and lockers.

Caf Y offers an exciting range of meals and refreshments to eat in or take away. When the Caf is closed you can buy drinks, snacks and confectionery from the vending bay.

Fitness Suite Inductions

It's important if you intend joining as a fitness suite member that we give you an induction to the fitness suite. This is in your interests, ensuring that you know how to use the equipment properly and to maximum effect.
